matty6660 Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 Got a 50cc at the mo but I'm buying a 125cc soon to do my test on. Just wondering if there are any special requirements that the bike needs to do the test on. Obviously MOT, Tax and insurance. But my bike has knobbly tyres for offroading (Dt 125r) and wondered if that would make a difference? Also, do you need to prep your bike before hand or what? Thanks. Quote
polecat Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 hi,I have seen two off road type bikes do the module 1 last sunday and they both passed !If your bike has a mot it will I presume be Road legal, the only thing i would say is some of the test centers have very smooth tarmac and others are very rough VOSA sites with diesel on the ground !Oh and of course you will need to take your two part driving licence (or passport if old paper one) your CBT cert and your THEORY test pass cert before they will let you take the testHope this helps Adrian Quote
matty6660 Posted May 5, 2010 Author Posted May 5, 2010 Cheers. I only need this bike for the test anyway, then ima get rid of it Quote
iWannaGoFast Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 Is it not easier to hire from the test site? Quote
Lumor_uk Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 Is it not easier to hire from the test site? If my Cg125 can't make the speed trap, can I hire one from them and do it again? Quote
Jimmi_929RR Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 It's been a few years since i did mine but from memory, the examiner checked the bike over (number plate, tyres - must be road legal, tax) and mine asked me to ride with my lights on (which i do anyway). Obviously, you don't want it to be falling to pieces or running out of oil or petrol so make sure those are full before you take the test. Also check all lights work etc. Also, don't forget an MOT doesn't necessarily mean that the bike is roadworthy.Good luck with your test. Quote
Lumor_uk Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 Saying about the tank being full, if the acceleration on your bike is marginal wouldn't it be best to have it half or less to make the speed trap ? Quote

They didn't have this speed trap thing when i did my test so i can't comment! But the school i went to used cg125s so i can't see why yours wouldn't hit the speed. Unless.......you're not about 50 stone or something are you?! Quote
