i've just noticed on the back mud guard a sticker saying datatool and what looks like a smallbulb??

i assume it's from an alarm system, how do i go about looking to see if it does indeed have an alarm system as i have no fob or anything else to activate it.

thanks

I AM NO EXPERT, but as fr as I know unless you have the fob you are jiggered.

In answer to your q'n :- If you are like I used to be you probably don't leave it anywhere for long unattended. And you probably don't even go anywhere dodgy. If so I think no alarm is necessary.

Same here. Just something else to go wrong in my case.

keith565: i'm wondering if it's a "pretend" one (like the empty alarm boxes you get on houses) so it looks like you have an alarm to put off potential theives? If not, the previous owner must have lost the fob so it's basically just as useful.

lol, i guess it is useless as i looked for the wiring from the light, there is none, lol, i guess it is fake. :crybaby: :D

it may be a 'fake' alarm, but it is a genuine deterrent :thumb:

Only surpassed in usefulness by a simple flashing LED

i wonder if i can get it wired up to a small led that flashes. what do u think?

yep, you can wire a flashing LED to the battery, have a look in Halfords... normally in the blister pack area.

It might well be the reminants from a datatool alarm or imobiliser. If you can start the bike then its either a fake or its been removed mate.
