Guest Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 Hi guys,I'm traveling from Australia to Europe next month to go to four rounds of the MotoGP, the first of which being Silverstone. I've sorted out some accommodation in Northampton but I'm struggling to figure out how to get to the track on the Sunday so I was hoping a little bit of local knowledge might help.It seems to me there's no way to get there by train directly and there don't seem to be any buses that run on the Sunday (not that I can discern, at least). I've had a look at the Silverstone website to see if there are some kind of special race day express buses that run from nearby towns but drew a blank there as well.If anyone has any advice or is even traveling that way on race day I'd love to hear from you. Cheers,Dan. Quote

Fulhamatt Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 Get a cab mate, Silverstone is about 15 miles outside of Northampton at a guess. I reckon it'd be quite expensive but better than the other options! The only other way I can think of is to stay in Buckingham or Towcester as they're closer. Quote
Guest Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 Thanks for your suggestions guys (and that bike looks pretty trick, Vicki! Be interested to see how it goes on the dyno!).I've unearthed a couple of ways to do it, but as yet haven't found an "elegant" solution that's quick and doesn't cost me an arm and a leg (although that's probably wishful thinking). The mob I bought the ticket from are running packages and it looks like their accoms will be in Banbury. I've found a place I can stay in a nearby village, so at this stage if I can get transfers from the mob that sold me the ticket I guess I'll get a taxi to Banbury and then hop on a bus with them. Here's hoping it goes alright! Quote
