beads Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 So i thought i checked the history on my last mot as i seen it had an advisory... What is this? Advisory Notice issuedOuter Front Lower Brake disc(s) has slight run out (3.2.A1mAnd how much u think it would to get it right, granted my mot is not till feb next year, id like to have my bike as safe as possible Thanks kyle Quote
supersapien Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 depends on the bike you have, it means the disc isn't perfectly flat any more.replacing the disc would remove the problem. my bike's got more run out than that. it's not a big problem. unless you can hear ya brakes grinding on the disc as you push it Quote
Guest Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 its an advisory, you will need a new disc at some time in the future. Quote
beads Posted June 24, 2010 Author Posted June 24, 2010 These discs were new aswell they are the wavey type, ghey gotta get it changed already Quote
supersapien Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 you don't HAVE to change it.it can be caused by the brakes being locked on and the bike falling, or going from hot to cold too fast ( the discs warp)i would imagine most bikes have it to a certain degreei think mine's nearer 5 i win! Quote

Ingah Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 A new disc is in the £90-£100 region for my Honda (both for OEM and 3rd party). That's just the part of course. Quote
supersapien Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 WalneyFrankie is right thought, if it's close to it's limit,it's rubbing or you just feel it's dangerous then swap it out, not worth the risk. if it's not it's you're call. as i said,i think mine is out more than yours and mines been no issue at allbut, any idea what caused it? or you might be finding ya self in the same situation again in 6 months time Quote
