chrisgatguis Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 Hi,just been working on the bike trying to get to a leeky oil drain pipe that i thought was causing the leak (posted about this agessssss ago... only just got round to looking).to get to this i had to take the head off, i was just about to do this (i.e. i had the valve cover off).was just about to unscrew the exhausts when i spotted a potential higher-up oil leak...right down the center of the head at the front there was clear signs of a leak, i quickly jumped up and inspected the valve cover.its been cracked and welded (although my dad reckoned it was soulder) and because of this the gasket just doesn't mate propperly..It looks like a bit of a bodge really. I don't suppose it would have caused a major issue really - just a constant leak..My problem now is sourcing a replacement valve cover. Ebay is looking promising but just wondered if anyone could recommend any breakers or anything or may even be breaking one. - you never know!..cheersChris Quote
