hammer5 Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 I've just seen some video's of the horn on youtube, they look quite bulky but can apparently just plug directly into the existing stock wiring, weight can be an issue i believe as well.Anyone recommend them?BB Quote
Guest Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 for - volume, noiseagainst - size, costwhere you gonna hide it?i've fitted snail horns in the past, which are plenty loud and easier to conceal, the last thing you want is bulky horn ruining the lines of your bike.. you can get these from halfords for a tenner, and plenty loud.. hammer5 Posted July 21, 2010 Author Posted July 21, 2010 That's the problem with my bike (shiver) its sort of naked so it would stick out like a sore thumb, I've read people hiding it under there seat but that sort of defeats the object slightly.I will have a look at what you have recommended. I'm after a quick swop with no worries of wiring/circuits etc - on initial look they could well fit the bill. Thanks (again)BB Quote
hammer5 Posted July 21, 2010 Author Posted July 21, 2010 The bike only has one mounting point so the dual won't work also i couldn't find the ones you stated for less than £22 - and the Stebel is £29.. unless i am looking in the wrong place, possible you could post a link?BB Quote
Guest Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 sorry single one £15..http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... yId_165704and if you extend the wires slightly and mount it under the tank... its a mod i'm yet to do.. but on the list,... Quote
hammer5 Posted July 21, 2010 Author Posted July 21, 2010 I'm not that fussed about hiding it, as the bike is naked it won't ruin the look as much. Have you heard this horn in action? one of the reviews states its not that loud/could be louder? But i suppose its probably better than the stock..BB Quote
Guest Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 i prefer the low tone version, and its loud.. definately got the attention of the public when i had one fitted.. Quote
hammer5 Posted July 21, 2010 Author Posted July 21, 2010 I nipped into Halfords and bought both the;Low Tone.http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... yId_165704And the Mountney.http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... 65704#dtabFitted them both individually and the Mountney sounded louder and felt more robust, so its fitted.BB Quote
