hi guys help with some brands

hello all im looking to get some gloves and bike gear dont think ill need a crash hat as ive always had my own from being a passenger on my dads bikes growing up. not sure what condition its in now though so have to wait and see.

what are some good named brands out there that can be trusted that can be picked up "cheap" on ebay. (buy cheap you buy twice but everyone likes a bargain!) main thing im after is gloves jacket boots and trousers if need be.

I would definitely check if your lid is safe to use before eliminating that from your shopping list, make sure it fits, hasn't been dropped etc

I would say RST is a cheap brand, but it is fairly decent quality.....in general

ok thanks. is it good to get leather and textile (as in both on the same piece of clothing like the gloves) rather than just leather or just textile?

are any of these any good?

Leather or textile... i've had both, but never mixed. I prefer the leather personally.

Personally, I'd go with the second pair, It's Leather so they look pretty good, waterproof, has knuckle protection (which I like the look of) and reinforced palms, which are a bonus

Having bought cheap gear before you need to be really careful, often it just isn't much good, and for a little more you could get something much better from a decent budget brand RST, Spada, Tuzo etc etc.

Personally I really like (and would recommend) Weise gear, my jacket cost £79.99 and its great.

Also try the clearance sections of the online shops: big bike book, sportsbikeshop, top gear superstore, Ghostbikes, GetGeared and so on

RST doesn't mean good. I bought a pair not a few months ago and they're already falling apart, hole in one of the finger stitches. =/
