hard to start cold yet new choke

hi ive got a wee 50cc sudika scooter that is hard to start first time.once its warmed up its ok.i thought it needed a new choke [ato] so i got one from ebay.put it on and still the same.i mean it runs the battery down starting it.what else could it be

try a fresh spark plug, cheap ,and wont do any harm..

is the choke adjusted properly ? what does it tick over at when on full choke?

its an automatic choke.the revs dont seem to be any higher

if the revs dont go any higher when first started then it sounds to me like the choke isnt working!!
