both brake lights just stoped working.bulb working fine.fitted new front brake light switch when i got bike because it didnt have front brake light.(2 years ago).i piggy backed the wiring off the rear brake light and it worked fine.was wondering if now the rear switch had failed would it stop both from working. another poss i read about was a magnet sensor/switch but didnt reallly understand it.anyone got any ideas.thanks :?

it would depend on which side of the rear brake light switch you joined into. if you can see rear switch try with ign on to move pin and see what happens as sometimes the spring gives up and doesnt pull switch far enough to operate light

its got banjo bolt and all i can see is the wires coming out of the top.i joined it somewhere under the tank near the regulator.not sure how to describe it just know that i followed the wires from the rear brake banjo bolt and hacked in somewhere in the ,middle.cheked connections and are fine.i do know there is a switch/sensor for the brake that connects when brakes are operated,a circuit is joined by magnet i think(oposite polarity) never heard of it before.anyway on my bike this sensor is all in one unit with the regulator, coil, interupter, digital spedo, etc and is expensive just to fix brake lights.hoping its just rear brake light switch.passed my d.a.s last week and want to sell so i can get vfr.oh sorry bike is 50cc moto/enduro husqvarna.

one way to test if it is just the switch is to bypass the switch itself if you can remove the wires from the switch or follow them up to where they join up to loom then seperate connectors and sonnect them together so they dont go down to brake switch if brake light comes on then the switch is the problem
