i am now undecided if im gonna splash out on a whole new bike in the new year, so i thought i would take a ride to pure triumph in wellingborough on recomendation by the boss at work.... on either of these days to see if i can get some goodies (special parts) for mine... not really fussed when we leave if anyone is up for it just say what time etc.... then we will sort meeting point from there etc...... oh all weather depending rain = no ride for me lol

I might be interested in a ride to Wellingborough if the weather is good because i'm in the process of applying for a job there.

dunno what i'll be doing to be honest, the other half's sister's birthday saturday, doubt I could make it out unless it's an early one saturday, back by 11.30ish at the latest. Sunday a no go. Don't arrange it around me though!

ill go if someone we are back from the south coast and someone wants to take me * does innocent cute face* :D

Weather looking good, rain Fri night but nice on Sat. Looking forward to the ride, had enough of crappy wet roads and me being scared lifeless of dropping my shiny new bike, even with crash bungs!

With these low temperatures the roads will still be wet on Saturday nad maybe sunday, but at least there should be some dry lines.

I got my crash bungs delivered today. Just need a torque wrench.

Posted

no, use a torque wrench. Got one that goes as low as 20Nm, probably a bit higher than required Aaron (i need to get one for motorbike, most tightnesses are around 10-14Nm)

My instructions that came with them say the bracket that attaches to the engine are 48N/m and the mushrooms that attach to the bracket are 25N/m.

The don't require any drilling, hence the bracket.

I'd hope that's a damn strong bracket, 45nm is... not far off the front sprocket torque which most people can't even get off. Basically it's put your entire weight behind it.

Get a torque wrench :P

I'll pm the guy i bought them from (triumphracesupport) just to check it's not a typo!

45Nm actually doesn't sound too far off, as crash bungs normally go in the main support bolt for the engine (so don't take both sides out at the same time!)

as they're those values, you can borrow the wrench if you like (you may need it to get the originals off - you need a big moment!).
