Buying panniers

I'm looking at getting some side panniers for my CBF, I'm considering the Oxford First Time Panniers kind of thing... What are your experiences of soft luggage? I'm not so keen on tank bags and I already have a top box and rucksack... any ideas?

Had a set of these when i had my CBR, worked great and plenty of room.

I bought a set of Oxford First Time panniers for my VFR (Basically, I'm too tight to buy hard cases. ) They work well, they're easy to fit / remove. With these and a tank bag, I've got enough luggage space for a week's traveling. They come with waterproof covers to keep the insides dry, but I tend to use zip-lock food bags or plastic carriers for packing anyway because I have trust issues. There's no heat proofing so be careful how you put them on if you've got a high exhaust. For the price, I think they're great.

They're spot on, I usually put my stuff inside a black bag then drop it inside a ruck sack then inside, that way everything is protected from the rain and if I get out at a service station I can just lift the ruck sack out and take it with me.

i have these click here except mine are the bigger 58lt ones as they have an expanding zip. think i paid about 100 quid for them but they need to go as i got hard luggage on the bandit so make me an offer if you want.
