Problems starting.

My apologies if this has already been posted.

I recently purchased a Honda NSR 125 R - which I absolutely love! However, I've been having problems getting it to start, especially when it's cold out or if I haven't ridden it for a while. Even with the choke on I have to repeatedly try and start it to get it to get going. It's annoying, and isn't doing my "street cred" any good :P

If you have any suggestions it would really help me out :)

Thanks :)

Just a typical 2-stroke, my 2008 RS125 required beating the starter button for about 30 seconds minimum with full choke before it would even consider firing. A hotter spark plug will solve a good portion of the problems.

The cold really hurts their starting up ability. Wack in the much hotter running iridiums, on 2-strokes they do make a vast difference to the ease of starting and running when its cold. Also smooths out the revs a lil bit.

eh! Fozzie the R125 is a 4 stroke you cant compare it to that!

I agree with changing the plug and air filter also check out the HT lead make sure that is in good nick and good connection while your at it

these arent things that will be picked up on MOT an MOT is purely to make sure its safe for road use
