keith565 Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 i bought some heated grips off ebay a few weeks ago, but when i came to fit them today (first chance since snow) the backing plate that holds the box onto the handle bars is missing off the control box.anyone any idea where i can get spares or how i would fix the box onto the handle bars. basically fitting a square box onto 1" bars.thanks Quote
Guest Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 All depends how professional a job you want to do! Also depends on how handy you are.An engineering supply shop should have 1" pipe brackets, the type used to secure compressed air pipes, which would fashion a bodge. Failing that, making (or getting one made) would be a better job.Did you try a google search for 'dr bike' parts? Quote
2fast2soon Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 I used one of these to mount my controller unit to the bars:http://www.superetrader.co.uk/images/herbet%20bike%20copy.jpgYou can get them from superetrader for about £4.I just cut the 4 little raised bits off and then used the double sided tacky pad that came with the controller unit to stick it onto the flat surface. You could just as easily use glue. Quote
