Guest Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 points ign or elctronic ? could be a few different things hello thanks for the replies, the points are ign i think what could be wrong with them and how do i check/fix them Quote
eastanglianbiker Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 they are located behind the left hand engine casing if it has points they could be out of adjustment or pitted badly and need replacing to replace you will need to remove flywheel Quote
Guest Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 i have had a look at the points and they look ok,was just wondering if anyone can tell me what could be causing this problem Also where about is the engine number located on the honda 90 enginethanks Quote
bullet5 Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 Not certian on this, but my bandit at one point did the same thing. Let it warm up (running onthe choke) for a few mins, then it should rev without stalling. It's a odd sensation. Quote
sparkeh9 Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 When I turn on my engine in a morning, I turn the choke on full then start, if I touch the throttle much past 1/8 of a turn it will cut out. Maybe there's just too much cold air for the engine to sustain it's self when you touch the throttle? Quote
bullet5 Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 Im not certian on this, but you'll be altering the fuel to air mix (I think) and that's what causes it to cut out, as your counter balancing the 'choke' effect, hence engine cut out...? Quote
