ENGBen Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 As you can see from this picture:http://img37.imageshack.us/img37/1859/imag0077i.jpgMy foot peg is bent. What do you think I should do? Short term, try and hammer / bend it back?Or should i replace it?It does not look as bent as I originally thought it was (judging by the pic i have taken). That pic also made me realise i really need to clean my bike i bet its going rusty in that garage all dirty (hadnt been cleaned for 2 weeks before i fell off). But I dont want to risk it with my exposed electrics lol. Quote
Guest Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 Best bet is to replace it. It is probably made from cast metal, so if you try and bend it back, it may snap. If it doesn't then it is going to quite weak for the remainder of its life and then may snap later on.A good clean will do the bike wonders, then treat the exposed metal with something like ACF50 or FS365. Failing that WD40 would work. Quote
ENGBen Posted January 16, 2011 Author Posted January 16, 2011 Yeah i was thinking along the same lines with regards to replacing it.Next time i am with my bike I will get under and look how they are connected to the bike. And yeah, i might give it a good "hand wash" that way i can avoid getting water down ( this:http://img703.imageshack.us/f/imag0073t.jpg/ (going to set me back about 150 quid to replace that )http://img109.imageshack.us/f/imag0072d.jpg/ (but im hoping the light will just click back into place lol) Quote
