Changing the exhaust and the effect it has on the engine

Ok, I have a kymco kr sport 125cc 4 geared engine, It makes the most dreadful bellowing noise which so far has been the only downside, it's nippy, not one of them Chinese scrap worthy bikes, made by hondas partner, so when changing the stock exhaust what does the new exhaust need to be able to work on my motorbike?

So for example I go on eBay and I see loads of exhausts, which don't specify their model belongs to any specific motorbike, what are the rules on this guys?? I know some are illegal aswell, and is there any that would fit my bike which sound decent?

Thanks for your replies in advance!!!!!

If you run a different exhaust on your bike, you may very well need to have the carbs reset. More air in the mix will affect running. Also you will need to tell the insurance company as they might need to know. Then you need one which will say road legal on it as some are track or off road use only, and that should be stamped on the exhaust can.

It is a lot of faff and on a 125, will not do anything much. Put up with the noise, or get yourself a proper bike...or just pass your test, or whatever.

I know this much as I put a new exhaust on my GS500. What a waste of time.
