hey

today when i went to use my side stand it sort of slipped and the bike was leaning lower to the ground then it usually does. i have a look at it and i dont see anything that is broken on it. what could be causing this?

the bike is a kawasaki er6n

thanks

Was it parked somewhere you normally park Lou? I'm thinking the ground may have been uneven or something??

Has it been bent at all?

Posted

i parked it on a slope with the stand facing down hill

it doesnt look bent tho but i will take it off tomorrow and have a better look

I have had a look at the frame n it doesn't look broke. When I had a look at the stand before taking it off it would go back to the top when the stand was up. It seems as though it has slipped forward

Degrease it and have a close look at it. Sounds like something is bent or broken to me.

If it is a broken frame tube or casting, don't let bro have a go, get it professionally welded!!! If it ain't done properly IT COULD KILL YOU !!!

Get it professionally welded before riding it again, we don't want you to end up in hospital

I know a man who know a man who's a professional welder. So that's my next stop.

Bleedin RAC made me ride it home tho

Don't know why I bothered taking out cover

If RAC man knew that frame was cracked, he shoul have advised you not to ride it and offer you a lift home. If I were you , I'd complain to the RAC top brass and maybe get some free cover. Threaten RAC with some negative publicity

I allways park the bike facing uphill and in gear if using the side stand. If it moves the stand will slip. If facing down hill the side stand can fold/flip up and the bike will tumble.
