Guest Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 Hi there,I own a '92 CBR600F and most times I apply the front break I hear a loud clunking noise from the front of the bike. I have been advised that this could potentially be a head bearing issue? Not completely savvy with bike maintenance but any ideas?ThanksDan Quote
Guest Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 My Yamaha did that....turned out it was the disc pads. But iam not saying it aint the head bearings.Get them checked too. Quote
techno Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 Me and a mate had identical almost zx6's and they used to clunk occasioally that was the discs too, but if your unsure get it professionally checked. Quote
bex Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 go to a dealer/garage and get them checked, could be headrace bearings, brakes or discs, suspension and a few other things. go get it checked Quote
Colin the Bear Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 A clunk is something moving that shouldn't. By the time it's started being a noticable clunk, it's got pretty bad.It shouldn't take an extensive search by some one who knows what they're doing to find it. But I wouldn't ride it till it's identified and sorted. Quote
XmisterIS Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 My SV developed a clunk on braking, apparently it was something loose in the headstock, the mechanic tightened it up and now it doesn't clunk anymore. So it could be the same problem. Quote
Jixerman Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Definately not a case of Clunk Click Every Trip Quote
