I have a dent on my fuel tank, its about 40mm across and about 4mm deep, I'm just approximating.

Could you get it out with those dent "trumpets"?

Any help would be appreciated

Cheers

Have seen some small glass suction gizmos (about 15-20 diameter) in laylands (tools and dec). Was thinking of trying one for my dent in my van.

Other than that I would try and push it out from the inside (via fuel hole) using wooden spoon of something non sharp like that.

As already said, " I would try and push it out from the inside " But I wouldn't use a wooden spoon it's not strong enough, something like a piece of 3/8"

round bar bent to get to the area you need, When you have the bar, make a metal pad 1/4" thick & about 3/4"round in shape with a convex surface that goes against the inner surface of the tank weld the two pieces together (make sure there are no sharp corners or edges touching the inside of the tank) when you think it sits in the right position apply slight pressure at the rear of the bar & see what happens,,

The bar should be long enough to reach the dent through the filler hole & still have about 20" outside for you to apply pressure, remember you will be using the filler hole as the fulcrum point so go easy, make sure the pad is on the dent otherwise you could have a lump along side your dent

If it's a painted tank, then filler & a respray could be the way to go
