Bigtee Posted April 22, 2020 Posted April 22, 2020 Hi Tankbag i had a similar accident when i was 18 a wheel bearing at work shattered and a steel fragment went into my eye. I had a couple of operations but in the end i had my eye removed and now have a artificial one, the only problem i had at the beginning was with pouring making a cup of coffee sometimes the spout was not quite over the cup. Tankbag Posted April 22, 2020 Posted April 22, 2020 Hi Tankbag i had a similar accident when i was 18 a wheel bearing at work shattered and a steel fragment went into my eye. My Dad lost vision in his left eye from glaucoma & he had problems judging close distances too, pouring tea at the side of the cup etc, He was fine with longer distances & took extra care turning right in his car. He informed DVLA & had no problems from them. He's no longer with us but I get free eye checks because of his glaucoma. Quote
Tankbag Posted April 22, 2020 Posted April 22, 2020 I just remembered wearing my eye patch was the time I was working for Tarmac working the hoist lift at a site in Birmingham a 13 storey building opposite the Town Hall. Anyway the hoist didn't have an auto stop & almost straight away I had a very annoyed Irish chippy shouting " up, up more, f##kin down, up, what the f$#k you playing at f##kin up, UP " I was taken off the hoist.
