ive no idea how this happened, could just be the weather, anyway...

could i start by saying that I am an honest member of society and have no intention of doing ill deeds or any other shennanigans :)

last night, as i parked my bike up, i put the steering block lock thing on as i usually do using the ignition key.

When i came out and tried to get it ready to go home, the key wouldnt turn properly and got stuck at 9 o'clock position (12 o'clock is ignition). I cant get the key past 9 o'clock, thought i can the steering lock off.

Ive tried wd40 - nowt. Im going to try my spare key tonight but IM not holding my breath on that as its worse han the original key. (the original key is fine in the other locks - ie petrol tank and storage compartment, so i dont think its bent).

I thought that maybe theres a way i can open it up using a screw driver and get it started. Is this possible? I really dont want to shell out for a new ignition barrel and i dontcare if i screw the existing one as long as i can get it home and use it (temporarliy) as its pretty safe where I live.

what to do?

cheers

Wiggle the handlebars and push the key in to take the steering lock off

Just have a play round with it, try different positions etc and if that doesnt work I dont know... It happened to Spafe recently and we sorted it fairly quick!

i got the top off the barrel and the key turned straight away. I dunno, it must just be all the rain or something.

Cheers anyway :)

Sounds like its rusting or seizing up inside... Rain can do this and has done it to me in the past.

Simply use a LOT of WD40 and leave to settle in, then come back the next morning and see what its like :thumb:
