Hello,

As posted in another thread, my rear tyre is punctured and needs replacing.

My front is a BT-021, less than 1,000 miles so don't really fancy replacing it.

I am thinking of installing a BT-023 at the rear, ride front BT-021/rest BT-023 until the front needs changing (3k/4k max) and then move onto BT-016PRO front and BT-023 rear.

Would you see any issue riding a combination of BT-021/BT-023 and then BT-016 Pro/BT-023?

The other option is too install Pilot Road 3 both front and back and try selling on ebay my front BT-021 but are the Pilot Road 3 really that much better in the wet to justify the over spending?

Any advice / comments will be more than welcome.

Thanks

Ludo

I don't know about road Pilot 3s in the wet. But the RP 2s are great in the rain really give your confidence in all weather conditions.

As for mixing tyre types Personally i would never do it on a bike, as the tyres might not have a consistent tread to disperse water or grip the the road.

I like both tyres to do exactly the same to keep the bike balanced and stable in the bends.
