gareth Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 Hi AllIm looking to do my full test i have passed my cbt and theory which are both valid intill march next year.so im looking to get mod1 and 2 done asap.would i be better going for lessons or the DAS route ? im 29. have not been on a bike for around a year.and what sort of questions should i be asking of training schools ?thanks Quote
Martyc Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 I'm confused on the actual question being asked because you have lessons for DAS you just do it on a 500cc + bike instead of a 125cc? Or do you mean an intensive course? I wouldn't really recommend one as if you fail the mod1 you will lose your test fee for mod 2 and it may be a bit rushed. As for DAS or standard test the test and training is the same. It depends if you are comfortable with riding a 'big bike' as the manual handling and height/weight can cause an issue for some, particularly the vertically challenged. Quote
gareth Posted August 7, 2011 Author Posted August 7, 2011 yea sorry not worded correct i meant an 5 day intensive course Quote
OhJay Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 Go to your local school and see what they say. The people I'm learning with insisted on my doing a ride out with the lead instructor to see what my riding was like and they made a decision from that.Personally I much prefer doing a lesson a week anyway, means I get a little bit of something to work on and then the week to work on it in my own time rather than paying my instructor, lovely as he is, to sit and have a smoke while watching me practice it Besides, March is aaaaaaaaages away yet Quote
johnnyp1972 Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 As said, go to your local school and have a chat with the instructor, who will most probably give you a free assessment. Then you can reassess from that.Personally i had two days training, as recommended by my instructor, then completed my mod1 and 2.Good luck with whatever you decide. Quote
