im planing to change the tank pad on mine, is it just a case of heat the old one up and peel off and then polish the tank?


as i want to keep the old one in good condition so i can get it scanned in and get a new pad made up by a mate :)

yes but not always that simple :lol:


if there is any residue left that is hard to get off try a bit of wd40 just make sure you clean it off before you stick the old one on :)

when i got my bike someone had taken the tank pad off and its removed some of the laquer


really hard to see unless you really look :?

If you're putting anther one on it shouldn't matter if a bit of laquer come off as the new one will cover it :lol:

Soak it in petrol, its what I did to an old one and it seemed to eat through the residue but leave my laquer alone...


Just dont stand near it when you do it for too long... I was on my arse soon after wondering why I felt light headed and dizzy :lol:


It then just peeled off when I got a bit of it up then put more petrol on it.
