Hi All

After owning my fazer for about a month now (my first bike by the way) ive noticed it is very whiny, especially at low revs, as above 7k the engine note takes over. Its only when it is in gear so im assuming its gearbox/transmission related?

Any fazer owners shed any light on this? is it normal? Any adjustments i can make?

Cheers

check chain tension most common thing

the chain could be too tight making the output shaft bearing whine :)

or if its just in the first few gears it could just be normal gearbox whine some are louder then others

Do you know when it last had an oil change, chain tension checked, and chain lubed? I always make a point of doing those things to any bike I buy as soon as I can after getting it.

Ive read somethin about the output shaft bearing, will check the chain tension first thing.

I guess it could be normal gearbox whine as the bike runs fine, but i have nothing to compare it to so wouldnt know.

Ive cleaned and lubed the chain myself, not checked the tension or changed the oil, i think it was done last year, is it worth changing? (along with adjusting the chain tension if needed?)

Definately always worth changing when you get a new bike as you don't really know when it was last done and it can save you a fortune in potential repair bills if you just left sh1tty oil in it, and it doesn't cost much to do an oil and filter change.
