Hi,

I have been driving a car for over 10 years and decided to take the plunge into the 2 wheel world. I have checked my license and have the appropriate category on my license counterpart to enable me to take my CBT this category does not appear on my photo card license. Two questions if i may?

1, Doe i need to have the category added to my photocard before taking my CBT

&

2, Once i've taken my CBT will i get the catergory added (i only ask this as being the ever pessimist if i get pulled over 'not planning to' my photo card license will not say i'm entitled to ride a bike)

Thanks in advance

You need category A on the counterpart.

You will not have it on the photocard because you do not have full bike entitlement.

Nope not for the C.B.T only the full licence.

if you have been driving 10 years i pressume you passed before feb 2001?

if so you will have moped entitlement already so you can ride a 50cc moped that does less then 31mph without cbt

if you want to ride bigger or faster you will need to do cbt which you will already have the provisional entitlement on your licence :)

Thanks for the replies. I have provisional entitlement A on my counterpart so looks like i'm good to head off to my local CBT training centre!:D
