An unusual fogging problem

Recommended Posts

Got a strange fogging problem on the inside of my visor.

I've got a Marushin RS1 Carbon

It's not your usual fog/mist, the droplets are a bit bigger than that so it just smudges my view. Interesting thing it only occurs in a small triangle bottom centre of my visor, more or less straight over my nose, so the only view it smudges is my speedo.

I was stuck out in the absolute downpour we had last month and it was perfectly clear of the usual fogging you'd expect but it's just this week I've noticed this bizarre one instead.

Anyone any ideas?

the more fog there is, the bigger the dropplets get. If you keep breathing on a cold window it will eventually turn into water droplets. And if its by your nose i would say you are just breathing through your nose a lot. try breathing through your mouth more, not breathing as heavily or opening up all your vents/open the visor a couple of milimeters.

If that doesnt work, my helmet came with an attachment thatgoes over your nose, if yours has that too, give it a try. Although i do find it obstructs the view a bit so i dont often wear it

The best thing I know is to basically open the visor just a tiny bit (as mealexme said). I have same problem with my helmet but mine gets fogged all the way around so I ride with visors up a little. Does the job and if you were your helmet properly it does not hurt your eyes by wind blowing in them.

Sensible. It was a bit chilly this morning :) I didn't have the same problems on the way home at all, must have gone through the normal fogging bit without my noticing. Must have been bloody cold though, I didn't have any problems when it was pouring but it was cold enough to overcome that!

I have got one of those nose masks somewhere, will try that. I bought a generic stick on pinlock-esque visor insert but it was too big top to bottom for the visor and interfered with the seal so I took that off. Shame I had one on my last lid and it was beautiful!

Proper pinlock set for Marushin on order. Will let you know
