Have you also got a rear stand? And can you post a picture of it, or a link to the one you bought?

Have you also got a rear stand, and what difficulty do you experience when you try to use the stand?

And is it this one? http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/Search.do?method=delegate&n=487&g=0&p=16292&s=MTXSL11R

yes got a rear stand been using that for ages no problem, but when the bike is up on that, as it is before I try to use the front one, when I try to put the bike on the front stand the whole thing, bike and rear stand creep forward and then I cant seem to lift the front at all. annoying the s**t out of me now :x

The bike will move forwards when you lift it, just keep moving teh stand and it'll lift it eventually. Might be easier if you get someone to hold the bars while you lift, to steady the bike.

Just don't try lifting the front without the rear in position first... like I did

That's why you use another body to steady it. Then when it drops you can blame them :P

An Abba stand, that's what you want for a one-person operation. I use one on my ER-6 and it's steady as a rock.

be careful the rear stand doesn't come up when moving forward...its not nice catching a bike

Push the stand down and back and get someone to steady the bike the first few times
