Guest Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Hi, i own a suzuki ay50 katana wrk1 (50cc moped)... I was ridin it home from work last nite, everything as usual and working as it usually does, when all of a sudden, all the lights went out, the engine cut out, and the rear brake locked itself causing me to skid to a stopI spent 20 minutes getting it started again, then i drove down the road, only covered around 30 metres for the same thing to happen again .. anybody have any ideas why it could be doing this? many thanks Quote

Could it be the cluth? Could the clutch rollers be worn out, causing there to be a flat spot which will cause the clutch to sieze which would explain why the rear wheel locked up? Quote
Guest Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 Buy a new sewing machine and replace the engine Quote
Guest Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 Could the clutch rollers be worn out, causing there to be a flat spot which will cause the clutch to sieze which would explain why the rear wheel locked up? did you hear any noises from around that area? it would be likely to start towhine etc as it gets worn, more likely oil pump where I would be looking first Quote

We took the drive belt cover off, and the clutch/gerabox and drive belt all seemed fine... Then checked to make sure the spark plug was ok, and everything was fine.. Also checked to make sure the fuel line was ok, and that the fuel tap/filter wasnt blocked, and it all seemed fine too.. so the conclusion i came up with was that it is either the oil pump or that it has a cylinder/barell seizure maybe... im not sure if my bike has an oil pump though?? i think that it is gravity fed as its just a ped Quote
