Boro Jake Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 As a bolt was snapped, part of the shaft still remains with thread on however theres not enough room to squeeze a standard nut on there.my question is can you get partly sunk nut that would fit through the header plate and bolt on for a temporary measure?bikes an 03 fzs 600 Quote
megawatt Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 You could try buying one, but you'd be better getting one made from a thicker than standard nut. Quote
Boro Jake Posted December 1, 2011 Author Posted December 1, 2011 something like this i was thinking http://file.seekpart.com/productsimage/2011/10/13/2011101316653298s.jpgso it just fits through the header as a temp measure need help on size/where to loook tho Quote
megawatt Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 Header studs normally M6 thread. Sometimes M8. You will have to make yer own nut though? Quote
oslin06 Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 I do not think there will be enough clearance between the header hole and the stud to accept any long shank nut, if you are lucky you could drill a hole in the stud and use an easy out, but exhaust studs can be a pig, I would heat it after drilling the hole and then use the extractor, failing that its take the headers off to get to it.Keith Quote
