Student discount/recommendations on bike gear?

Hey everyone,

Just starting out biking and need to get my gear. Not on an extremely tight budget but would be nice to save a bit being a student.

I'm at Reading Uni and there is a local Hein Gericke just outside of town (who I see are offering a good online discount at the moment) so will go there to have a look for bike gear.

Bit of a long shot but anyone heard of places offering a student discount or any recommendations for first time gear?

I will be looking at leathers as opposed to textiles I think, not sure if eBay is best for that?

hein gericke is the place to go! they are nice and friendly and always doing deals. If you tell them you'd love to get some new kit but just can't really afford anything at the moment, you'd be surprised what sort of deals they will offer you.... plus they do a buy now pay later option.

plus, their gear is very good.

ebay is good for bargains, but with leathers you really need to try them on before you buy.

edit: sorry, not heard of anyone doing student discounts.

Awesome thanks a lot I will definitely go down there tomorrow then and see what I can get. Hopefully can get a couple of deals there and perhaps boots/gloves off the net.
