Downshifting to neutral instead of 2nd

Hi guys,

I've got a Sach Madass 125. When I'm coming down in gears from 3rd to 2nd I'm getting neutral most of the time. I'm not getting any other gear issues changing up, jumping out of gear etc. Just wondering how common this is and what can be done about it?

Cheers, Joel

Thanks for the tip, I'll give it a try, it's just a bit strange because it wasn't happening for the first week I had the bike and just started happening. Could something have worn out in the gearbox?

False neutral, common problem on suzuki's in the past (don't know about now).

Just take more care on that gear change to ensure you have a positive gear.

is this a new bike or recently bought from dealer ?

It's 3 years I'd but it's only done 500kms. The guy I bought it from had it new for his licence but never rode it after...

Was thinking warranty but thats out the window

Very unlikely to be wear after 500k's. So it's back to care on shifting, my guess is that after a week you are now being a little less positive (read careful) over your gear shifting.

Could be a number of things, fully synthetic oil causes false neutrals. Is the clutch adjusted correctly? Take more time changing gear. Gearbox won't be damaged unless a numpty owned it before you

I got some advice that you should let the clutch out while still pressing the gear leaver down or up. I was always tapping the gear and then releasing the clutch. I think that releasing the clutch before releasing the gear leaver has solved my downshifting woes!
