Finding out what screw size etc..

Ok, so done LOADS to my bike today.

Well I took some parts off (gear lever, pillion foot rest and the thing that holds it together) and sanded them and polished them up and there looking pretty good.

However as I am using my new found knowledge of basicmechanics and polishing I am noticing bits and bobs that i want to change/arnt there on my bike.

I have ordered a 560 pc's set of the fazer 600 1999 stainless screws and bolts etc..and will be using these when they arrive but I have a question.

Where do i find the exact size/item I want.

The two i noted today was a spring for the pillion foot peg and the foot peg mount there is a washer type thing between the mount and where the bolt goes into the bike, one was missing (noticed when removing)

Any ideas? I have haynes manual but seems to be quite tricky to find it (if its in there).

Just a tip for you if you are putting stainless bolts into ally then put some copper grease on the thread so that the stainless doesn't react with the ally,
