Hey all

i'm 19, have my CBT and passed my motorbike theory test. i'm a bit confused about going for the full licence though, do i go through the DVLA to book the modules, or through a motorbike training company? also would i have to train on a bigger bike for the test or could i use my 125? (good old trusty Honda CG lol)

Thanks

Hi and Welcome to TMBF

At 19 you would have to do it on your 125, you have to be 21 to be able to do it on a big bike

You can book it yourself or you can get a bike school to do it for you, is up to you. Doing it on your 125 you can book it yourself, make your own way there and do it completely on your own. Booking it through a school you can have the instructor come down with you if you want but it may cost you more for the instructor's time :)

moved to the correct section

Can it be moved to a little section called "Search the effing forum for things that have been asked a million times before?"

It's not like the internet is no help at all when wondering about how to get a motorbike license for whatever age someone is on whatever size bike they have or want.

Hey!

thanks alot OhJay for the welcome and for clearing things up for me :D it gets a bit confusing sifting through all the stuff on the net haha

and englishman, if a question is frequently asked theres usually a good reason for it (masses of new inexperienced riders trying to get a starting point and find out the ins and outs of the motoring world perhaps?) perhaps you should try skipping over and not reading posts that you are over-experienced with, or alternatively contribute your knowledge and help the new guy/gals out a bit. Your call...

Thanks all

You're right - a bit of a dick-move post of mine earlier one. Sorry.

Take the test on your 125 after a couple of lessons to iron out any faults developed since your CBT, then book the Modules yourself online and give them a go. The Mod 1 is £15, so get that out of the way before booking your Mod 2. I presume you've passed your theory test, which is valid for 2 years, otherwise you can't take the Mod 1.

Good luck!

No worries bud, cheers for the advice :) and a couple of lessons does sound like a good idea, not sure what bad habits i've picked up since my CBT haha!

Thanks again
