borgy95 Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 As part of my paint project i intend on doing the rims on my bike... to do this it seems to make sense that i take the wheels off, so i can get proper coverage and don't end up missing spots/paint bits i don't want to. My question is, or do u recommend i keep the bike upright? i have a centre stand but is that enough to stop it tipping forwards or backwards when one is off? preferably i'd like to have the two off simultaneously.any other miscellaneous tips welcome. Tango Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Put the bike on the centre stand and put some blocks of wood under the sump to stop it rocking forwards. Most bikes are front heavy coz that's where the engine is....but there are one or two bikes around that defy this.... Just be carefull to position the blocks so that they spread the load across a wider part of the sump.....ie. not with the weight of the bike resting on the sump plug..... Quote
