smiffy637 Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Further to my question earlier these are the symptoms. The bike starts okay and will tickover okay when warm, when it is revvved when stationary it will pause slightly at around 5000rpm then rev up to about 10,500 rpm and then splutter a lot and will rev no higher but will spit a flame out the exhaust. When riding it will accelerate quite cleanly upto about 8000 rpm but no more, in top gear it will only do about 75 mph before stuttering and i have to back off the throttle. Quote
Tango Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Check there's no restriction washers in the inlet stubs. Also check your air filter isn't clogged or you don't have an air leak around the airbox or inlet stubs. Also is enough fuel getting through?....clogged fuel filter?..... Quote
eastanglianbiker Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 incorrect fuel mixture incorrect spark plug gap and as tango said check filters Quote
smiffy637 Posted May 29, 2012 Author Posted May 29, 2012 After the advice i have received from you guys i checked my plugs. Guess what ? The garage that had serviced the bike back in march had fitted plugs that are not even listed for this model. That'll teach me I went to Halfrauds and got the right plugs and the bike has vastly improved, now revs upto http://i620.photobucket.com/albums/tt287/mechman637/100_0551.jpg10,500 rpm. Just need to get the carbs set up now ! Quote
