hi guys set off for work this morning started the bike up it started on third attempt normaly first time, started to move off the speedo arm starts jumping all over the place at one point i"am doing 140 mph them after 5 mins it settles down and works ok then this evening going to guildford it does the same thing anyone know what it could be. sorry forgot to say the bike is a fazer 600 year 2000

Sounds like the classic signs of a speedo cable giving up.


You'll see the cable going to the centre of the front wheel, unscrew it and see if the centre part comes out :thumb:

Need to know what bike it is really mate....but at a guess I'd say that your speedo cable is sticking and snatching. A bit of oil down the cable may sort it....but it's probably an indication that it's on it's way out..... :)

hi guys thanks for your help i"ll have a look at it tomorrow at work let you no how i get on.

had exact same issue on by previous bike... was the speedo cable. fortunately easy fix.
