AdeyT Posted June 9, 2012 Posted June 9, 2012 I'm interested in going to next years IOM TT and trying to find out what's involved and what the costs are going to be. Finding it difficult at the moment searching for info on the internet at the moment with this years TT still going on so really appreciate any help.Looking at going over on the ferry, me and the bike, camping for just the race week. What i've found out so far is return ferry approx £200 and then approx £75-100 per day for camping, food, beer and fuel, is that anything near? Quote
techno Posted June 9, 2012 Posted June 9, 2012 Suppose it depends on how much fuel, beer and food.I would assume the ferry costs and camping are pretty much the same as this year.I know I went for a weekend away from tt week and it cost me about £500 all in but I wasn't camping. Quote
Bonniebird Posted June 9, 2012 Posted June 9, 2012 One of my colleagues is over at the TT at the moment. They chose to ferry and camp this year so I'll ask him for an estimate when he gets back. I've been to the IOM a few times in the past but not during the TT and I think they tend to hike the prices up for the fortnight. Quote
OhJay Posted June 9, 2012 Posted June 9, 2012 Ratser is out there at the moment as well so he'll be able to give you some info when he gets back. Quote
bex Posted June 9, 2012 Posted June 9, 2012 the ferry/seacat and bike is around £200 but as for the rest you can live as cheeply as you want. how much fuel depends on how much riding you want to do, how much food n beer depends on how much fuel you want to use lol and as for camping, sulby is usually free for two weeks camping so get there early you can have a cheep holiday Quote
Ratser Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Hey mate.Hope you get to go next year. This year I was £200 odd for the ferry, £7 per night camping, and spent over £600 on food, beer, cigarettes, fuel, merchandise etc. This years campsite was very good, with a bar which opened at 5pm until 11pm, and a clubhouse open all day that had a wee cafe in it run by a mad french guy.Facilities were a little limited though, with only 3 showers, and two actual toilets (although there were urinals). But it was about a 5 minute walk from Parliament Square at Ramsay.Easy access to the Mountain Road or the Laxey Coast road, and a good amount of parking for bikes.Buses to Douglas were about £5.20 return, or you could get an all day saver for £7 which meant you could hop on and off anywhere on the island. Ratser Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 At the moment all you will need to pay is a £20 deposit for the ferry, and maybe a small deposit for whatever campsite you get.Quarterbridge Rugby Club is the one we have been at the past 3 years, and only went to Ramsay FC one for a wee change.Quarterbridge has more facilities, but bar and clubhouse were not as nice and clean, and they had a snack van outside it instead of a cafe inside.Quarterbridge one you are also inside the circuit so need to get up and out before they close the roads, or else you are stuck there. Thanks for the info, was looking at Glenlough campsite near Union Mills, 350 tents, heard it's one of the bigger campsites. Most likely pay the deposit for the ferry and campsite now and see how things turn out. Quote
