Guest Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 Long story short, I'm looking at getting a 200cc bike, which tests would I need to do to ride a 200cc bike without L plates? I did my CBT but it was over 2 years ago.Cheers Quote
Weebl Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 You will need to redo your CBT and then do theory and both Mod 1 and Mod 2 for a full motorcycle licence.Depending on your age and what bike you do it on will depend on what bikes you can ride afterwards and if you have any restrictions, but none of them will apply to a 200CC bike (unless it is a very powerful one which does not weigh a lot)The hoops to jump through to ride 200CC are the same as those required to ride a litre sportsbike (apart from you can do the test on a smaller bike, which is not actually any easier) Quote
Guest Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 Okk thank you.I'm 21 with a full car licence, to rise a 125cc without L plates will that be just a CBT? Quote
Nell Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 edit- misread. No, you'd still have to do your test to ride the 125 without L plates. CBT will cover you with L plates. Quote
Boothy Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 Okk thank you.I'm 21 with a full car licence, to rise a 125cc without L plates will that be just a CBT? CBT will mean a 125 WITH L plates. Quote
Guest philgale Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 Your car license is provisional entitlement to ride a 125cc with L plates providing you are with a qualified instructor or have a valid CBT.once you have your CBT again you can either do your test on a 125cc bike or generally a 500cc bike, doing it on a 125cc bike limits you to 33bhp for 2 years i think, depending on the power of your bike you may be ok or may need to restrict it.since your 21 i would do the test on a 500cc bike then you aren't limited and when your bored of your 200cc bike you can sell it and buy a bigger one.
