No, no no no....er yes. It was the only road on my ride out yesterday which there were no other bikers on.

We went off to find this road today, expected something similar to the lovely road going past St Mary's Loch.

Instead we found a crappy single track road which for the first 15ish miles (about 1/2 our route on that section) was covered in the middle with anything between gravel to large stones. Spent the majority of the time at <20mph crawling round sharp corners and praying the cars coming the other way were going to stop. I'd say about 70% either didn't know what passing places were for (or just decided "its a motorbike we'll not bother stopping").

The view was nice as was the tea shop. Saw a couple of folks on a Harley Ultra-glide or something!

Don't waste your time on a bike, take a car and a tent for a relaxing weekend and get some amazing sunset/rise photos while you are at it.

If you do do it on the bike, come from the Aberfeldy side which is better and turn round at the tea shop.

Sorry Ed to hear you did not enjoy that.

It did look like someone had been putting stones in the verge for drainage, but they were ending up down the middle of the road instead. Apart from that I like single track roads and don't feel the need for speed. But that kind of road is easier on a tall adventure softer sprung bike. I think I would have enjoyed it even more on the KLE.

I know you don't like the Loch Long road up to Arrochar and I love it. (I did that as well on the ride out)

I did think a more upright bike and your giant stature (certainly compared to us) would help.

I think the only issue we had with thee loch long road was the folks we were with which is easily fixed. It's certainly more fun than staying on the a82 up to Luss.
