marksmith Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 Hi folks,The "pull" throttle cable on my 1999 Bandit 600 rusted through. The replacement I got had decent metal adjusters on the carb end, but plastic adjusters on the handlebar end. You couldn't tighten it - if you did, both parts of the adjuster just slipped over the thread on the (metal) sleeve. Assumed it was a duff one, sent it back for replacement, and the replacement is identical, just as bad. Before I sent it back again and find a different supplier, are they supposed to be like this? It seems rubbish, but I've binned the old one so I can't check...Thanks!-Mark Quote
Stu Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 Is it a genuine one? if not I would send it back and go get a genuine one Quote
marksmith Posted September 29, 2012 Author Posted September 29, 2012 No it's not genuine, but that's my question really - are the genuine ones metal or plastic? No point sending it back again, getting to the dealer (pain), paying more and then finding it's still plastic. Quote
Stu Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 well even if the dealer one was plastic I would say it will work as the original one has probably been on since 1999 Usually they are all metal and the return cable is sometimes a plastic adjuster Quote
