Guest Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 Hi,I am thinking of making a Moto Guzzi classic into a bit of a fake scrambler...in the same way Triumph changed their Bonneville into a scrambler. Does anybody know where I could buy some knobbly tyres for the bike; that would still fit under the front mud guard? Thank you. Quote
eastanglianbiker Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 chances are that yo will have to move the guard up even if its only a couple of inches ,unless you spend a long long time trawling to find sizes if made that might clear it Quote

Throttled Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 Since you are going for the look, there are dual sport tyres that are more knobbly which will fitThe Pirelli Scorpion Trailhttp://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/oncirrus/3/images/product/enlarge/pir_scorpion-trail.jpgThe Metzeller Lazertechttp://www.metzeler.com/site/mediaObject/MetzelerSite/CommonImg/Product/Tyres/Lasertec/catalogue_lasertec_325x200_jpeg/original/catalogue_lasertec_325x200_jpeg.jpgwhich appear to come in the right sizes of 100/90 x 18 and 130/80 x 17. 790Bonneville Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Naaa...don't go to the expense of knobbly tyres! As you want it to have the look of a fake scrambler (presume you don't want to really scramble) just chuck loads of muddy water at it ..and your self for that matter ...Hey presto! Scrambler bike and person, also for subtle effect just say Wild and Woolly every so often. Quote
