Would it be the reason to all of a sudden stop working, one day driving high revs everywhere next day dead? 0.o

yes i would say but without seeign the old piston it could of been anything but i think ur worries will be over when its done properly just make sure you have got 2 stroke oil in the tank and its drawing through to the engine ok,get who ever builds the engine to check

no idea what thats for just give everythign to the mechanic who is building it for you

Well he's a family friend so he's coming in about half an hour, I'll let you all known how it went, thanks!

That thing was apparently an exhaust adapter and if you wanted to put a bigger exhaust in then you'd take it out and for the smaller exhaust IE, mine you'd put it in..

And as I'm stupid I left it at home thinking it wasn't needed and just some crap, turns out it's needed and if i try and start my bike without the exhaust it could cause quite a racket and the neighbors apparently would get annoyed, god damn it! Let you all know tomorrow!

Having read your post I was wondering about a crank shaft seal, if one is leaking it will cause big problems, just a thought.

Keith

Well, it all got installed hunky dory It fired after a while of bump starting it fired and after that it ran great =D the carb setting was all wrong but they got correctly set and I drove slowly to the near garage and got an energy drink, BAM started again! then I go home put it in the garage come back to it later yay started but half way down the road it stalled and wouldn't start and still wont!

have you run out of petrol?has it run out of 2 stroke oil?

No all recently filled up, the spark plug comes out wet which i don't know why it isn't getting a spark as its had all new CDI, spark plug, spark plug cap etc... =(

are you sure you got the mixture setting correct on the carb and its not running to rich as that will foul the plug up if you have got a spare plug fit it and see what happens

Did you notice the pitting in that first piston head Steve?....Looked like no 2 stroke oil to me?

do we know what the correct mixture ratio should be and do we know that it has been mixed properly?

The carb setting was left after it idled well at 1500 RPM so I doubt it could be that I'm not ruling it out though =/

Well them bolts and washers haven't arrived yet so It's basically running with 3 bolts and not 4 but it did work then it didn't?

yes i did notice looked more like pin circlip running riot up there when you look at the state of the barrel looks like the gudgeon pin has been rubbing the barrel

I don't think fuel is getting to it, I put a cap off fuel into the spark plug hole and it fired up, then died, plug came out blacker than black :@

As EAB says....if your running too rich it'll foul the plug in no time...... If you pull the plug out and it's wet you're getting something into the combustion chamber.....now if it's the right stuff is another matter.

Are you sure that the bottom end of the motor was alright after the devastation in the top end? Haven't knackered the main bearings?
