Ricky Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 Hi guys for the ones who didn't scroll past when they saw the word scooter, cheers A mate of mines brother bought an absolute hunk of crap on his 16th, italjet formula 50 :/Any way when he bought it it all worked but wouldn't idle but he was fine with that so he kept riding it and left it at home when he came back to it, it wouldn't start So I told him bring it to mine and I'll have a look at it for him and after cleaning the mucky carbs and blowing an air compressor clearing all the pipes the bike started first time from the electric start but won't idle whatsoever it just dies like it did before :/I've checked for an idle screw on the carb and its not even got one 0.o and the tube which goes from the carburettor to the air box has a massive cut in it Would the massive cut in that pipe prevent idling and should it have an idle screw? eastanglianbiker Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 yess the split could stop it idling wrap some tape round it as temp fix to see if that helps also the idle might be set from where the cable goes into the carb check to see if there is an adjuster Quote

eastanglianbiker Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 have you checked how clean the air filter itself is Quote
Ricky Posted March 15, 2013 Author Posted March 15, 2013 Hmmm, No that's a good point I'll look now Thanks ;p Quote
tommo Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Does it idle ok when cold (on choke)if so it could be a blocked pilot jet Quote
Ricky Posted March 15, 2013 Author Posted March 15, 2013 hi, has an automatic choke I think as it doesn't have a switch or anything to turn it on and all the jets have been thoroughly cleaned Quote
