MacLean Posted March 25, 2013 Author Posted March 25, 2013 Just to update, this time round i got a measured 120 miles full tank till reserve. I'd say thats more like it!When i posted in the beginning I done a 40mile + 25mile + 'some' aimless riding.I genuinely thought I only done about 10 - 15 miles aimless riding - just shows you the miles totally whizz by when your enjoying yourself! So turns out it was all a fuss over nothing Quote
Guest Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 +1 to what Tango said..Lambda sensors dont just detect the oxygen in the exhaust gases.. From that reading it picks up, it has the ability to make your ECU give a richer or a learner fuel/air mix..Especially with a change in its back pressure from factory now that the different can has been fitted..the lambda sensor can be detecting there is an unbalanced reading in the mixture due to the change in back pressure, which could be causing your ECU to run slightly richer than whats actually needed by the engine..I had an RS turbo engine that was a mothers B* for this happening..Couldnt understand why it cost me nearly £20 in fuel to drive 8 miles, at "normal" driving speeds. Was all down to the change in exhaust system on the car...
