Matte helments

Hey guys,

Do matte black helmets tend to scratch more easily than glossy finishes? And, when they do scratch is the matte material/color solid the whole way though the shell or does it leave a different color underneath the scratch?!

Ps, I am referring to budget matte black helmets (if that makes any difference)

I was looking at a Shark helmet at the BMF show a couple of years back.....the lid was matt black & orange.....and the main thing that put me off it was how shabby it was looking after a day or 2 on the stand......whereas the Bell lid (gloss black & orange) I bought there still looks good over 2 years later......
