Hello, im planning on building a pit bike from scratch and getting it road legal. What i need to know is do the rims have to be the same size or is it ok if i use 12" Rear and 14" Front?

Also if you know where i can pick up a pair of 12" rims for a 125 pit bike let me know :P

i know i can get some macs etc but there a little on the expensive side, thanks.

Dont think there is any requirement for rims to be the same size, many bikes have different size front/rear.

How far you got with this?? interesting project :)

Yer you should be safe with the wheel sizes in terms of rims to be honest. I mean yer see bikes that have just come out on the market. such as BMW honda yam all sorts along them lines they have different front to rear size rims so i dont think that would be too much of a problem aslong as yer dont take the mick sort of thing lol

unless, the rims are a size that you cant get Road-Legal tyres for.... i doubt the tyres on most pitbikes would be legal on the road.

Sounds a lot of work to me - cheaper and easier to get a Motocross bike road legal.
