shanejones Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 Hi guys looking at getting some base layers to stop the rubbing feeling on my arms and legs, I just want something cheap, where do people go to get ther layers from?Shane Quote
maccy Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 I wear a rash guard, designed and bought for MMA and some base layer pants I got from aldi for about £4. but that's because I am cheap. I have not found a reason to buy anything else though as these work perfectly. Quote
al_stu Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 Aldi every day of the week. wear either thier motorbike base layer, their general thermals, or a golfing waterproof windbreaker, or all of it, depending on how cold it is (i dont 'do' cold) Quote
Bonniebird Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 I tend to use hiking base layers from Go outdoors or Sports Direct field and trekor ordinary leggings or occasionally tights but then I'm a girl (although I suspect a few of the guys resort to tights as well) Quote
shanejones Posted August 15, 2013 Author Posted August 15, 2013 Ill have to see tomorrow if aldi still do them had a quick Look on sports direct they have some cheap stuff on there as well thanks for the help Quote
Lumor_uk Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Canterbury or helly hansen hot for the summer and the cold one for autumn and spring. Cold killers for winter. Quote
uk190 Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 i have oxford cold killer baselayer trousers for the, erm, cold weather.i use a canterbury under armour compression top for when riding in my one piece as its super slippy and it helps getting it on and off.same with Aldi's thin baselayer trousers, theyre ok for use under leathers.i also bought aldis cold weather baselayer top and bottoms but i have yet to try these out yet. but i cannot see why they wont be good for the money they cost. Tuiroo Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 I picked up a couple of sets from Lidl. They have random motorbike stuff sometimes. The base layers are excellent for keeping a regulated body temp. If it gets hot then it wicks away sweat, I have never been to cold in them. I would recommend them as I have had mine for 18 months and they are still good as new. I never go on a long ride without them and once they are on you don't notice them at all, they act as a second skin. Really cheap too, just a few quid for the top and bottoms. Quote
klingelton Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 TK MAXX when they have some. the one on the headrow in leeds has a good selection of outdoor stuff and is generally 70% cheaper than buying from other retailers. It's last years gear, but we're not superman, wearing our underwear on the outside... Quote
