Seabluegal Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 OK, the rumour is....Sad news...The meet at Ashby Folville got too successful for it's own good and has now been pulled by the poilice (apparently) for crowd control purposes. So therefore this September's Tues 10th meet is cancelled (and all meets after that)Desperately sad, this. It has be the most unique and interesting bike meet ever. Gutted. Quote

uk190 Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 its a shame for anyone who attended it and those that never attended have missed out. the gatherings at folville were good and attended by both cars and bikes of every style. it was a great atmosphere and a nice way to spend an evening. i never noticed any antisocial behavior or annamosity from the villagers. they even allowed vehicles on the village green and cricket lawn. its a shame its not going to be the big official gathering anymore, but i can see it continuing in a unnoficial capacity as it was too popular to just stop. I agree with all of your points. It was the most special and unique bike meet ever, I'm gutted it's stopped.Regarding it carrying on, the rumour is that the police will be warning people this month that in future months they will be preventing people from stopping on those roads and I've even heard that they might give out ASBOs to cars/bikes that do stop. This is purely a rumour, I don't know that for sure, that could be just gossip. Quote

Chrissb6 Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 Great shame this it was in an idyllic setting on a beautiful village green. Cars and bikes of all ages come together to show off there pride and joy. Once again a few morons have spoilt it for the masses. Typical, the police shut the lot down than sooner single out the wrong doers, why could they have not set up a few cameras and bring them to book rather than shut it down? Shame a real shame Quote
eastanglianbiker Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 it seems a replacement venue might of already been found for this at Leicester Speedway Beaumont Leys on tuesday evenings and they are hoping it will become regular event Quote
