Ages ago on my chinise cpi 125cc i was riding along and the rev counter went mental then stopped working.

So were do i look at to find the fault?

Were will it take the rpm reading?

Is it a mechanical drive or electronic?.......if it's mechanical it's probably the cable broken......if it's electronic, well.....could be wiring, tacho mechanism, signal from CDI box........ :wink:

Theres only two cables throttle and clutch. I have a spare cdi i will check that.

I had changed the cdi before it stopped. But the rev counter still worked after that for a few miles.

I'd be checking the connections and wiring to the CDI......sounds like you may have a bad connection around there...... :wink:

Changed cdi, still not working.

I think its a bad connection to.

Would it take a rpm reading ftom the front sprocket?
